The Belgo gallery hop in downtown Montreal

Designed by architects Finley & Spence in 1912, the Belgo has been the home to a forever-rotating roster of galleries and artist studios since the early 1980s. Today it has the largest concentration of contemporary galleries in Canada. Explore the hallways of this initially industrial building, and visit a selection from over 20 contemporary art gallerists alongside dance, architect and artist studios. Your guide – a passionate art insider – will guide you through the history of the galleries and the artists presented with an introduction to the current exhibitions. Develop your taste, define your opinions and expand your knowledge of what you like with a member of the Montreal art community.

An art insider will lead you through a selection of galleries and artist-run centres in the Belgo. You will get an introduction to the Quartier des spectacles where the building is located, to each gallery, the artists and exhibitions.

The galleries visited will vary depending on gallery schedules and current exhibitions, but we will visit between six and eight contemporary galleries, located in this early 20th-century building.
